Veterans Day Thank You

Veterans Day

Veterans Day is November 11, time for us to, once again, recognize what thousands of men and women have done for our country.

But why wait for this day to roll around? There are plenty of ways to honor veterans in the community, to go beyond just recognizing them on this one day of the year. For instance,

  • Volunteer your time at a local veteran’s organization.
  • Each veteran has his or her own unique story to share so why not invite someone to your church, school or other organization.
  • Ask your Scoutmaster if your troop can find a service project that will assist a local veteran and his or her family or a local shelter.
  • Show your patriotism by flying our country’s flag.
  • Gather your work group to visit nursing homes or care facilities where you might find older veterans.
  • Learn more about the history of Veterans Day. Visit the National WWI Museum and Memorial.
