Exactech Joint Replacement Lawsuits recall multidistrict litigation

The first trial date has been set for Exactech consolidated hip, knee, and ankle lawsuits in the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida for November 6, 2023. The Hon. Donna Keim has prioritized moving this docket along quickly. Setting the first trial date for a little more than a year from now demonstrates her commitment to this goal.

Order Coordinating Exactech Hip Knee, and Ankle Implant Cases (Case No. 01-2022-CA-2670)

  • The Order of Consolidation includes 54 cases that are currently pending and provides the opportunity to consolidate all Exactech cases filed in the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida in the future.
  • Consolidation means efficiency, consistency, judicial economy and an efficient resolution since it should help the cases get heard quickly.
  • With Exactech being a Gainesville-based company, it was logical to file these cases in the Court in Alachua County, Florida.

A Plaintiff Steering Committee (PSC) includes attorney members of the State Court consolidated proceeding in Florida who are appointed to lead the common interests of all plaintiffs. Specific duties for members of the PSC will soon be determined.
